This video provides a step-by-step guide on how to stain and clear coat wood trim and cabinets in your RV. It also covers how to repair and fill screw holes in trim work. Loose interior trim can be an eyesore and a nuisance, but it’s a fix you can easily manage on your own. The guide will walk you through the steps to securely reattach and align your RV’s.
For loose interior trim, you can use Howard’s brand Restor-a-Finish to restore some heavily scratched trim without needing to refinish or replace it. To clean the area with a damp rag, remove all surface dirt and debris but don’t saturate with a lot of water. Allow the area to dry.
For nicks in your RV wood cabinets, dab a bit of stain on the corner of a rag and rub it on the exposed wood. SC Johnson paste wax is used for fine scratches, while yellow can/red stripe is used for yellow can/red stripe. Cover the scratch with a light color, wipe, and if required, use a darker color, wipe. Blend.
For a crack in the finish, use Furniture Touchup with a bit of polish and elbow grease. For fine scratches, try using “old English” scratch and stain remover and spray lemon oil furniture polish afterwards. If you have a crack in the finish, contact Thor for replacement trim first. Oxalic acid wood bleach applied with a cotton swab can be used to sand it all before bleaching the stains. A deck wash/cleaner should be used to do a coat, let it dry, and repeat.
