My advice would be keep the roof maintenance up. This material ruins easily with water. Even high humidity over time will cause it to sag. As long as it’s kept dry though, it should look nice for a good while. Also, for cutting holes, you can use a multi tool and a shop vac next to the blade to greatly minimize the mess.
