The text describes the process of reclaiming seasonal furnishings and gil after an estate has been demolished. After selecting “Estate Possession Retrieval” from the dialogue options, players can retrieve indoor and outdoor furnishings and gil from the resident caretaker NPC in each. Once the house is demolished, it gets put back on a 45-day countdown, which is only applicable to the house owner. After 45 days, players have 35 days to collect 80 of their gil and all non-destructible housing items from the caretaker.
Relocation allows players to move their estate hall and accompanying furnishings to a new plot in any residential area. An NPC (Resident Caretaker) holds some of the furniture and a partial refund of whatever the lot is worth. They only hold it for 30 days, depending on the location. To demolish your house and get rid of the plot, players can choose Housing > Estate Settings > Private/Free Company Estate > Relinquish Land.
The countdown for housing demolition works by creating a project parameter (yes/no) called “kept furniture” and assigning it to the furniture category. A rule-based filter and view template are also created. Players need to search their furniture inventory in the All section instead of seating. If they are a deadbeat and have no assets, they have nothing to worry about, but if they do have assets, they will be pursued.
In summary, players have a limited time to reclaim their seasonal furnishings and gil after an estate has been demolished. They must navigate through the housing district and speak with the NPC in the housing district to receive their gil reimbursement and furniture.

📹 Demolished Arborite // Glad This One Is Over // Furniture Refinishing
This dresser had demolished arborite! I am glad this one is over. I won’t feel bad if no one likes this one. Lol I was not inspired by …
Loving these articles! So cool to see the entire process. Make sure to cover the back of your new fridge though. We did a major renovation and our new fridge was in the house and started leaking a lot. A technician came and the back was completely covered in dust! Was an easy fix but save yourself the hassle 😉
One thing: For pipes, cables etc. do yourself (or the next one to own this apartment) a favor and ONLY put them in straight lines, vertically or horizontally. With diagonal lines (like the pipes in your shower) you never know where exactly you put them, which increases the risk of hitting them with a drillbit in the future. Ask me how I know…
I still can’t believe there’s dirt as insulation. I probably would have pulled all of that out. That’s sooo muchb added weight. I’m excited to see what you do with this, you’re a great craftsman and I cant wait to see what cool things you do. Good luck bud, you sure have a lot of work cut out for you. Wish I could help ya.
Alex, I’ve literally been checking your website every day waiting for this article! I’m enjoying this series SO MUCH! Fantastic to see you making such progress. My partner and I are dreaming of starting a project like this ourselves. Question: Why glue the floor? Wouldn’t screws just be enough? Won’t glue make it impossible to remove the floor panels again?
I was skeptical about the dirt initially, but you have convinced me in this article. Especially with the rock wool on top. My big concern was all the dust that would migrate up eventually, but with the rock wool being cut perfect to the joists, you basically have dirt filters now and you still get the benefit of the dirt for insulation and sound deadening!
The insulation purpose is only a small part of why you use dirt. To reduce the structure borne noice it is the easiest way to just add a huge amount of weight. So with this dirt you kill one of the two species( structure borne/airborne noise and impact sound) of noise . So you don’t want to hear your neighbours from underneath doing suspicious shit? Add some dirt in your floor. And you still do it the some way today…. either you build a concrete slap, or you use some havy shit between the beams. (Some small stones or small balls made from plaster)
While you’re running electric cable (I guess its too late for under-floor), have you considered wired and wireless network? If you’re going to be editing articles you may want to upgrade to a NAS so having 10 gigabit connection between workstation(s) and NAS. And for best Wifi you should run an ethernet cable to a central spot in the ceiling to have an in-ceiling Wifi Access Point(s).
Nice! 👍😊 Love to see every step from project! Best thing from my side – I replaced aluminum cables to copper ones in my concrete apartment by my self because there was an issue – when they build up my house, electricians run cable through light switch to socket for heavy load.. Almost get fire because of that.. After my cable change, everything is ok. Heavy load gets power directly but light switch gets power from separate line.. In my country it’s allowed to do things by my self.. If it wasn’t, I’ve don’t trust to anyone until I verified because of my experience from electricians who don’t understand how electricity works.. 😂
The dirt you are mentioning in the article actually serves two primary functions. 1) the weight of it is used to reduce sound from the neighbors underneath you and 2) most importantly, it is used as a fire resistant material. In Denmark you are not allowed to remove the “dirt” unless you replace it with another fire resistant product. Btw, nice job you’re doing.
Your wiring laws are amazingly backward… wiring outlets is trivial, but home owners should not be trusted to run electrical wiring, because you end up with improperly installed wire every goddamn time, no nail plates, through holes in studs at the wrong depth, the whole list. And then five years later you’re installing a photo somewhere and cause a short because your wire’s installed wrong. At least you’re running in your floor space, so that’s less likely to be an issue.
I am not a civil engineer only an mechanical engineer, but I am pretty sure the dirt is their because auf his mass. Only mass insulates impact sound of footsteps ore something else in wooden ceilings(floors) Wooden beams that length in old houses tend to vibrate. The mass moves the point of natural oscillation to a much more comfortable one. My opinion. May a CE can spend his thoughts here.
I always try to construct things so that they are easy to re-open if necessary. By glueing floor in place it is very hard to remove it later without destroying lot of other things. I really hate chipboard and would not use it anywhere were i live. I think that even modern chipboards are releasing glue chemicals to air. Formaldehyde etc. Maybe i am oldschool and think that dirt underfloor is better than modern glass or rock wools. But atleast under the floor it is better than in ceiling where it releases small glass fibers to inhale to lungs.
Hey Alexandre! Love your website and your content! Been holding off on this comment because it make me feel a little bit bad but you have this thing where you accent certain words in a sentence a lot and very clearly. And to be honest it sort of drives me mad 🙈😅 Hard to explain in writing but I think you’ll get it if you listen to one or two episodes. I think it might be some of that sweet sweet Norwegian pronunciation that’s leaking through (me being a swede can relate 😅). Love the new flat and love this series! Hope you won’t take my comment too rough. Much love from Sweden and me.
its a good thing he took out thoughts in consideration lmao not, i guess if someday the floor comes down on hes second floor neighbor, he would have at least saved some money…. the second floor neighbor probably not perusal his ch . why he said if he took out the dirt he would have to insulate the floor…but then he still insulated it anyways …lol
I subscribed because of the great job you did on the ugly duck challenge. This is constructive criticism, You will have to decide if you are entertaining (entertainment) or a how-to on that one specific piece of furniture. I was bored by the constant and than I blah, blah blah. I understand that you want to share the journey, but every single thing you did is not necessary. I hope you make it on YouTube. You seem to be a great person. Almost every sentence began with I then, I did, I used…….. you have to change it up a little. Best of luck. Will continue perusal.
