What are the three C's of proposal writing?

What are the three C’s of proposal writing?

The 3Cs, or compliant, complete, and compelling, are essential for creating a high-scoring proposal. A compliant proposal follows the RFP instructions to the letter, including all requested content, including volume, section, and subsection, and required appendices and attachments. It ensures that all requirements are addressed, and information is presented in the order requested.

Non-compliant proposals are often rejected by contracts staff during initial inspections and never reach evaluators. Compliance is the minimum cost of entry and is not optional. Hundreds of proposals are eliminated from competition every year due to non-compliance checks. To avoid such situations, create a compliance matrix, keep it updated based on amendments and client RFP changes, and follow it to the letter. Designate a second person within the organization to first check the compliance matrix itself and then do a final compliance check of the proposal before it goes into the shipping box.

Additionally, check the box contents, as missing components like volume, required copy, CD, or DVD can lead to rejection. By adhering to these three key truths, a proposal can be successful and potentially win the competition.

  • My favorite planner for faith planning, journaling is horizontal whereas my favorite for my catchall is a vertical. My planners are a virtual art gallery of your sticker books, Heather! Don’t know whether you really know how much your creative talent and love of what you do positively influences the lives of others.

  • Heather, these stickers are stunning and really do look like REAL flowers, which is different than many other stickers I have seen. Although I am not new to planning, I am new to decorative planning and have typically only used the monthly layout in my planners. Very recently I have started using and decorating the weekly portion of my planners and discovered that the vertical layouts are my favorite. They allow me to make longer and/or more checklists, fit more information and decoration into the space, and are easier for me to organize without the spread feeling cluttered to me. Thanks as well for the tutorial!!

  • I love the classic vertical layout. I started out in a vertical planner when I found the happy planner a few years ago, then I thought I would try other layouts. I struck with the dashboard for a whole year. At first I really liked it, but towards the end I was already shopping for my vertical planner. So happy to be back in the vertical for 2021.

  • I’ve tried most of them. Definitely a vertical for my catch all planner. But there are good things about each. The dashboard I use for my daily verse; my minis are bible studies and wellness – one is horizontal and one is faith, then I have a classic for my journal in vertical and another for my other bible study. I decided just yesterday to put them all in one planner for easier access. Except my wellness since I use it for my blood sugar testing and meds. I am retired and don’t work, but need my life organized!

  • HI Heather! ;0) Happy One Day Early Birthday to you and Holly!! ;0) I love the vertical layout…I have a Classic planner that I use for day to day, budget and faith… (I tried my hand at Frankenplanning this year LOL!) This classic vertical spread is absolutely beautiful… it is designed in my favorite color – Purple! I cannot wait to order this sticker book on Friday (I missed Patreon order – end of school and start of summer school has been crazy…… remember those days?? lol) This layout would look beautiful in my planner……. I’m just sayin……. hehehe Have a blessed day Heather…. Michelle

  • I LOVE florals as well and love your stickers! I am still trying to get the handwriting down…LOL Your planner words sticker book is the BEST! I Love the classic vertical layout, makes planning life easier for lesson planning as a SPED Educator, a busy boy mom, and also as a craftpreneur! I enjoy and look forward to seeing your articles weekly! I also been loving those IG reels too….it’s been super fun perusal!

  • Hello Heather, re this article, my favorite layout is the Classic Vertical. I love your sticker books because they are beautiful but also have the functional boxes, checklists so that I have what I need to do a beautiful spread quickly. I love that, because I am new to planning, I just started during the pandemic and I get overwhelmed at times trying to decide how to put together a functional, but beautiful spread. I’ve learned a lot from you and from Mary Ellen. AND Heather, the spread you did today is MY birthday week, the 26th is my 61st birthday, Just saying 😘

  • Classic Vertical girl right here. I did try horizontal once upon a time but found my true love in the vertical layout. Thanks for sharing your ideas and for this giveaway. My family has been affected by COVID in recent times and I haven’t been in my planner much so I could really use some inspo from you! 💛💛

  • Heather I want to thank you. Im not a fan of the colored background because I like my flowers to look like they are growing from the pages but in this book you have pages with colored backgrounds and pages with out. That helps so much! I’ll used the colored for colored paper!! Thank you for thinking of everyone!! FYI this spread is gorgeous! Hard for me to pick a layout because I use different ones for different things but Im going to say vertical for all of the decorative spreads! Most of the sticker books are made for that it seems!

  • My favorite layout changes every year lol. I started with a dashboard but I’m currently using the colorblock layout as I have been planning in time blocks this year. I also have a vertical lined as a faith planner. Next year I am planning to try a classic vertical layout. I feel like my planner style is still evolving and I love the flexibility that HP planners give me to change things up when I need or want to! 🙂

  • I am an avid vertical planner and I love, love, love your sticker book since I am an avid rose and garden 🪴 lover. The fact that you are doing so much with your talents and gifts is an honor of the Most High. I truly woul be so honor to be blessed with this spread Blessings and much continued success.

  • I’ve been using the classic Dashboard. I’m not sure how to decorate the vertical. I get overwhelmed by all the area there is to decorate. I want to try to move to a vertical. I really enjoy all of your sticker books especially with the washi tape you have to match. I love matching washi in my spreads!

  • I’m a dashboard planner both in the classic and mini size. I’d love for you to do a article showing how to use your stickers on that kind of layout! That being said I’ve been giving serious consideration to trying the vertical layout again as it seems much easier to decorate. These stickers are gorgeous like always!

  • I love your stickers and your spreads i have purchased everyone of your books so far at least the ones i can get my hands on cant wait to get this one . You have given me the courage to tryout for the squad so thank you for that . love your content.im glad i found rhe Happy planner 3 years ago saved my life . thank you
