Epic. I’m in the process of remounting five pictures and mirrors. They were quite heavy (3-5 kg). They were mounted with appropriate-sized command strips in the way described in this article, but after two years, they all started falling off the walls without warning. So command strips are good, but I wouldn’t rely on them for long-term mounting. I’m going to use many of the techniques presented here. Toothpaste and forks for sure. Thanks very much!
These are ok tips for people without a 24″ ruled level. But professionals just use a ruled level for everything shown here and do the math. About the only thing we do out of these tips is use drywall dust catcher and museum putty on the bottom corners. These tips do sorta work if your’re math challenged and want to do things fast and loose.
