This tutorial demonstrates how to make giant paper snowflakes, which are perfect for creating a festive and magical winter wonderland. The process involves folding the bottoms of the snowflake petals, stacking and gluing them, preparing the base, attaching the petals, flipping the snowflake, and finally, gluing the smallest snowflake petals to the front.
To create a 3D snowflake, you will need six sheets of paper, scissors, tape, and a stapler. You can also use free printable templates and cutting machine files to choose from different sizes, shapes, and designs. To start, fold one of the squares in half diagonally so it forms a triangle.
These snowflakes are fun, easy, and inexpensive to make, with the smallest being 12 inches across and the largest being 24 inches. No two snowflakes are ever alike, so it’s important to smooth out any creases from folding.
There are many other DIY snowflake projects, such as wooded snowflake art and DIY wood dowel snowflakes. One popular option is using cardboard shipping boxes as the base for the snowflakes. By following these steps, you can create a large Christmas decoration or wire several together. Enjoy the process and enjoy the festive and magical winter wonderland that comes with creating giant paper snowflakes.

I grew up and we stopped making them and I forgot how I messaged my mom to see if she remembers because I wanted to make them with my girls (12 and 3) she couldn’t remember but after some searching she found this article and sent it to me. TEARS OF JOYY!!! I cannot wait to re create these and make new memories with my kids thank you so much!!

I want to do a fun & overdone snowflake Christmas display like Buddy did in Elf. I’m trying to plan ahead and it’s only January. Thank you for the article. It’s been many years since I’ve made paper snowflakes. I wish everyone a fantastic year and wish for the spirit of Christmas to last all year through.
I work in parks and recreation and end up making a bunch of these last year, some were white, some were white and baby blue, white and red, but they were used as decoration for the Christmas party, for the Christmas dance we had, let’s just say they loved them so much they have their own box now to use again. Also if you want to hang them, use some fishing line! It makes it look incredible!
