This is the part that should contract or expand depending on the seasons, humidity. The assembly implemented may not allow the wood to move and generate cracks. I could not believe this guy is showing all viewers a quick way to lose your fingers on the table saw, never use the mitre gauge with the fence, as kickback is 100%going to happen(as seen several times here) luckily he was not standing in line with it, plus cutting a 2×4 on its end without a jig, how this boy still got his fingers/thumb etc still attached I never know, You tube should ban articles like this, nothing against the boy

Loved the way you made that door frame. It was simple, with not much hassle. In my country they use wood beams (5″x5″) to make the frames. They have to cut the notch so as to make the door fit on it when closed and it takes a lot of trial and error, not to mention time. Also, it makes the frame expensive, unnecessarily thick and heavy, providing very little in over-all strength. I loved that here, you used what I guess are 1″x5″ wood planks to make the frame and screwed it right in the wall and then nailed thin wood strips to make the door sit on it. IMO, I found this method of door framing much easier and cost effective…
Most youtubers showing their skills for 1 door: 4 episodes, epic music, slowmotion, macro… and you feel like woodworking is reserved for a few gifted elected officials. Or you have just a guy doing his job and the end result or techniques are not always off the (perfect woodworker) book but it’s more than beautiful.
It’s all glued solid. Anyone perusal should consider a design that allows panels to expand/contract with the seasons. This is why all non-modern doors are built are built with floating panels. Modern doors can also be built but special techniques needs to be used e.g., floating larger panels, playwood core, etc
Please, PLEASE do not show just hand holding while cutting tenons. This is a crazy dangerous method that has a high risk of a kickback with your hands very close to the blade. The board will rotate and your hands (and fingers) will be swept into the blade. There’s a reason there are mounts and jigs for this very cut. Just search tenon jig and save your hands!
