How Should My External Windows Be Cleaned?

Outside windows often have more grime than inside ones, so they require extra attention to detail when cleaning. To clean them effectively, use the right technique twice a year, working in a grid from top to bottom. Use a power washer with a cleaning solution, a garden hose, a two-bucket cleaning system, a squeegee, and a microfiber cloth. Scrub the window with a brush or sponge soaked in soapy water.

To keep your windows squeaky-clean and smudge-free, work on a cloudy day. Regular cleaning helps preserve the integrity of the glass by preventing streaking. Tools like an extension pole, a garden hose, a telescopic U-shaped cleaner, and a magnetic window cleaner are useful for apartment windows.

For ground-floor windows, use a window scrubber, sponge, or microfibre cloth. For a streak-free shine, fill a bucket with clean water and add a small amount of liquid dishwashing detergent. Wipe down the window. Dish soap is a cost-effective choice for outdoor window cleaning because it’s gentle on glass and can effectively cut through dirt and grime. If you prefer a natural solution, use a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water.

For the best way to clean outside windows, you need a broom vacuum cleaner, dishwashing liquid white vinegar, a squeegee magnetic window cleaner, and cleaners with ammonia or alcohol. Mix water, white vinegar, and dish detergent in a bucket, increasing amounts as needed. Use a soft bristle scrub brush on an extension pole to clean windows. If your windows are particularly soiled, use a mixture of ammonia and water to cut through fingerprints and grime. Use an iron handle scrub brush to scrub the windows gently.

  • To one bucketful of warm water add one eggcupful of washing-up liquid and one eggcupful of vinegar. Scrunch up some sheets of old newspapers; soak in the liquid mix; rub all over the window glass. Scrunch up some dry newspapers sheets; rub all over the windows to dry off the liquid. Result: perfectly clean and smear-free windows.

  • Dawn was in a law suit back in the day for lying about its toxicity levels and so when certain birds were caught in an oil spill, were cleaned with Dawn and a lot have died because of this. the animal cruelty foundation (not sure of the exact name) went o interview them about this, they slammed the door on them. Dawn isn’t as safe as they say and if they improved it, well, once a liar, always a liar
