Gorgeous Colonial, almost brand new construction, in desirable Bedford! Ideally located in Lexington Park, a favorite …
This was one of the few things my family watched together as a kid before they divorced. And the last thing I watched with my Father before he passed from cancer, it is precious to me in so many ways. I love that the critics didn’t get it at award shows but it meant so much to us. Still fall asleep to it almost every night 🏆 ❤ From Detroit
I loved this show, as a kid, because it was one of the shows that my family all watched together. Eating dinner in front of the TV was not a usual thing in my house. We always ate at the kitchen table. No TV allowed. Except for this show! We laughed together, and I will always have fond memories of that!
So Anderson went from being a sex object on Playboy, to being a sex object on Home Improvement (a family sitcom), to being an even bigger sex object on Baywatch (a show about sex and whose stars hooked up on the set in trailers). They made it seem like she wanted to be a serious actress, which couldn’t be further from the truth.
I’ve watched,Home Improvement when I was a kid in the 2000’s because my parents and brother grew up perusal this tv show,& they decided to watch it again,I thought it was new or at least still going on as a child, now as a adult I understand it was re-runs & that it ended when I was 1,since my birth month was farther away in 1999.I was missing the show already wondering what happened to,Home Improvement now I know.
It was my senior year of high school & I remember the first time I heard Wilson’s voice I went “Is that the voice of Herman Munster?” My career Army stepdad & I would watch it together & the first time Tim Allen did the grunt noise thing mom just glared at me, then rolled her eyes & smirked as she tossed a Snickers at me & went “Just like your grandfather” 🤭
Our family loved the Taylors because they were the family down the street. Sure, Michigan was the context, but it didn’t matter. We knew these people. They were local. We had a “Wilson” who lived next door to us too. His last name was Hogan, and that’s what we called him. It wasn’t “Mr. Hogan,” and he never disclosed his first name. Even his wife only called him “Hogan.” We kids would walk out to the backyard to play and find dad having a fence chat with Hogan about this or that. It was one of those scenes that made our house a home. Patricia Richardson was a master. I remember perusal her on the failed sitcom “FM” before Home Improvement, and hers was the only character I watched the show for. Pat is someone who proves that superior acting doesn’t always require reciting words from a script. The scene where the dishwasher explodes is one example of Richardson’s mastery of her craft. The way the character of Jill flowed out of her so effortlessly made her perfect for that role. As for her body in the very beginning of the show, she had absolutely no reason to be insecure. If anything, her body’s natural reaction to having just had twins only made her look normal. Pat was an absolute perfect Jill.
tool time was my favorite show!!! start laughing before it even started good because you KNEW you were for sure gonna be laughing your butt off by the end!!!! sucked when the writers ran out of ideas which seemed like what happened as the show…..changed greatly. maybe “they” should’ve brought in NEW writers, with new ideas while keeping the show as it had come to be known.
Awww, poor things. You are offered 25 millions dollars and you don’t want to do one more season because your bored??!! Give me a braak. These actors are so ridiculous. You know how many ppl would have loved to have had your job? There is a lot of ppl out there working for hardly nothing and they get bored with thier jobs too, but they have families to feed and bills to pay. They have to keep working whether they like their jobs or not. You just can’t make some people happy no matter what.
This show was ridiculously important to me growing up in the 90’s. I related to the Randy character on so many levels it was literally strange… Yet reassuring at the same time. My brother was very similar to Brad, which gave him a reason to watch, and Tim seemed like the kind of dad I wished I still had. Being the same age as Randy meant I grew up alongside that character. That sarcastic self-assured demeanor felt like it was modeled after me in a way. This whole thing was a nostalgia fueled trip to the past.

E! Rewind Pop Culture Throwbacks, Patricia Richardson had a guest appearance in “Law and Order: SVU”. It was episode five of the first season and was called “Wanderlust”. In my opinion, she did a great job. I remember seeing the news that Zachery Ty Bryan was arrested around the same time I saw a rerun of his guest appearance in episode eight of season two of “Burn Notice”. The episode was called “Double Booked”. I’m not surprised Tim Allen had “fits” because in my opinion I believe he was “emotionally stuck” at age 11. Going to a counselor back then, and even in the 1980s, wasn’t done when a parent past away. We kids were expected to “get over it” and move on. I equate Richard Karn’s starring as ‘Al Borland’ in “Home Improvement” to Betty White’s starring as ‘Elka Ostrovsky’ in “Hot in Cleveland” because each was hired for one episode of their respective shows, but ended up being cast for the show.
Notice they don’t give much time to the kids. After the first season when the show was a hit, the agents for the three child actors wanted to renegotiate their contracts and get raises. The producers were furious and wanted to recast them, but Disney said, “The show is a hit, making lots of money, give them the raises.” But the producers resented it as they believed that the kids were getting the bonuses they were due and they treated them like crap from then on. Richard Karn talked about this in a different interview. The reason Jonathan Taylor Thomas left the show early was because he was fed up. He didn’t even come back for the final episode.
Comedy is comedy There is no method or plan It’s either funny or it’s not The only reason The show was on so long was because it made money You don’t need serious writing you just need to balance real life with the fiction Patricia Richardson is a lousy actress Everything else she’s done has been blah Never should a family comedy do anything related to sex or drugs because they can’t do it right No parent in this country would actually put there child throu drug testing because there is a process you have to go through Depending on the state you live in it can be expensive and there is no insurance that covers it without paying hundreds of dollars per month In premiums That’s just one example
Actually the age of consent in most states is 16/17 unless it’s a teacher/student – it definitely is not right, but legally okay… Also face it, if it was a 16 year old girl I think there would be more outrage… There is always the double standard, and it’s men who push that narrative with comments like “where was she when I was a teen, I didn’t have any teachers that looked like that”… Also the teen boys usually say they never felt like a victim…
Earl Hindman sounds and looks just like Anthony Bourdain and Hunter S Thompson combined. How odd! Bet he was an absolute Gem of a man based on what I’ve heard here and else where. Also – If my wife cut her hair that short I would also become distant and confused. Makes sense why she left. He spoke about how he wasn’t attracted to her anymore because she started to dress and style like a man many years ago.
Tim Allen is the reason why Home Improvement was worth perusal. The show ended because there was obviously too much drama behind-the-scenes and not enough passion for the work. It was brave decision from Tim to walk away because he obviously didn’t want to work with people who don’t want to be there, don’t care enough about the work and complain about their job. He wanted to protect the show’s legacy and the audience. With all the off-camera drama going on, Tim showed more dignity and respect to everyone involved than Patricia did. Tim did the right thing by walking away from a toxic work environment. When the actor takes the job, they always know what their payment is gonna be. If Patricia always had a problem with getting less pay, why take the job in the first place? The reason why Patricia didn’t deserve the same salary was because the entire show was identified with Tim Allen. The producers claim that “Patricia always held the cards” is not true. The show could’ve continued without Patricia but not without Tim. The show was always about him and his comedy routine. And without Tim, the show would never had seen the daylight. Besides, Patricia was always on the show for the money. ABC didn’t cancel the show BECAUSE of her pay request. She tried to blame the network while playing the victim. Patricia deliberately used the pay gap between her and Tim as leverage to make sure that the show gets cancelled because she already knew that she wasn’t gonna do the ninth season. This is what makes you lose respect and value in the industry.
I hate this show now because it hasnt aged well at all. I hate how Tim talks to Jill and how badly he treats Al. And I really hate how terribly Brad and Randy treat Mark. Even worse, it was obvious that Randy was a sociopath and in the early seasons he was downright evil at times. I don’t think that verbal and psychological abuse of one’s family members and co-workers is funny at all, and I won’t watch this show ever again. In hindsight, it’s absolutely horrible!
So Tim only cared about the money. Then when someone says they wish to be paid as an equal he throws a bitch fit and says “they only care about out the money”. I’m sure Tim was very verbally abusive and that is why the middle child didn’t want to come back. He was treated to poorly by Tim for wanting to do something else why would he want to come back.
I HATE Home Improvement! It was funny when I was younger and didn’t understand political agendas. Now… hell no! The show is completely misogynistic and that’s just one of the political agendas. I don’t care about Tim Allen’s history. I HATE that he gets political on his shows! I won’t watch Last Man Standing either.
