Loading a staple gun is a crucial task for DIY projects, repair work, and hanging decorations. Staple guns come in manual, electric, and pneumatic models to fit various needs and are more powerful than the average desk stapler. To load a staple gun properly, follow these steps:
- Open the loading compartment lid and remove any staples from a previous job.
- Place the box of staples upside down on a flat surface.
- Insert the end of the staple gun’s loading rod into the hole in the bottom of the box.
- Push down on the loading rod until it hits the bottom of the box, then release it.
- Pull the magazine pusher back until it clicks, insert the staples, and release the magazine to lock the staples in place.
For manual staple guns, use your hand to insert staples by wrapping your fingers around the staple gun and pressing the trigger with your palm. Turn the gun sideways so that the staple exit is pointing away from yourself and others.
For electric staple guns, unplug the gun, open the magazine, and pull the lever on the back. Insert the strip of staples into magazine “B” and replace the pusher rod.
For rear-loading staple guns, push on the rod at the back of the gun to pull it out. Insert the staples and push the rod back in. The bottom-load magazine makes it easy to load (uses Arrow JT21 fine wire staples).
The Easy Shot is great for hobbies, upholstery, and decorating. To load the staples, hold the gun upside down, release the loading latch, and load the staples in the bottom of the box.

I used to reload these all the time, but since I only recently got back into wood working after a brain injury, I gotta thank you. I legit physically built a business building and all of a sudden forgot to load the wood stapler. It hurts feeling dumb when I knowvthe knowledge is there, but just needs reawakening
Lol I had one and was putting it in wrong thinking it was defective since I hadn’t used it in 6 months. I went and bought another one brand new that was exactly the same then had the same issue so I knew it was the operator! I feel stupid but thanks for the article and guess I can return the one I just bought 😂
