New technology has made it possible to see through walls and find out what’s inside them. The Walabot DIY is an ideal wall scanning companion for home improvement enthusiasts tackling remodeling or renovation. However, exterior cladding and boxing make electronic stud finders ineffective due to their thickness and solidity. The Walabot DIY provides an easy way to see through cement or drywall, check pipes, studs, and more.
The Walabot DIY Stud Finder In-Wall allows users to find the center of wood and metal studs, detect and track the paths of pipes and wires, and show movement within walls, making it ideal for exterminators. However, stud finders do not work like X-ray vision, as there is a lot going on in walls, and it can be difficult for any device to determine what’s a pipe and stud.
The ProSensor Franklin Sensor 710 uses multi-sense technology to identify studs behind walls. Exterior walls aren’t difficult to build, and the process takes a surprisingly short amount of time with the right tools and just a bit of know-how. Doctors and other staff members can protect themselves behind a wall that either has lead between it or is impregnated with lead. X-rays are safe, but the adequacy of shielding depends on the material and thickness used for this purpose.
X-rays can penetrate many solid substances such as construction materials and living tissue, so X-ray radiography is widely used in medical diagnostics. The Walabot wall scanner from Vayyar allows users to see through walls via an app.

0:13 The Power grid…when somebody leaves a room, listen for the sound of the electronic ballast in the light bulb switching off…an LM-741 op amp with ridiculous gain hooked to a square of aluminum foil and the output is a pair of headphones. Basically instead of hooking a microphone to a voice recorder, you hook up an antenna.
Thank you algorithm, last week I became a phone technician and repairs on a broken OLED screen, towards the middle of the week I learned about Rihanna’s second baby, became an expert at marching band terminology and formation, now I’m here. I have an idea. Just spitballing how bout a laser pointer viewed through your smart device camera 😊
I keep forgetting that in the US you have thin walls… old houses in EU have far thicker ones. For example, in my house there are some that are 60 cm thick (that’s approx. 24 in.). This technology would still be useful to find pipes, but you wouldn’t catch movement in the other room. Personally, I’d go for a vibrometer.
That was very informative and interesting. At first I thought your app was using thermography as when you demonstrated seeing the pipe but not your arm. I was wondering. When you did switch to another function it seemed like then you were picking up a faint heat signature as indicated by the color red. If it is in fact using thermography then that opens up many more applications by detecting heat lost in your home, water leaks, loose electrical connections etc. I used thermography occasionally in a nuclear station with a $60,000 camera but there are some that cost more. The reason I mention this is because IF thermography is included then the cost justification for the app is a great bargain and can be fun.
Yeah….. they can use any two speakers and get a 3D real time view of everything inside a room. Every phone has at least two speakers because every speaker is a microphone and every microphone is a speaker. All they have to do is send an inaudible ping like sonar or continuous pulses and get a real time view. They can do this right through your electrical wiring into your TV or through cellular if they use a phone. Also…. if you didn’t know…. they can pull up any phone conversation that happened since about 1998 without having to have recorded it first. I been telling people this since I found out in about 2002 when I was in the army. Most people say no way you’re crazy. Yeah…. I’m crazy…. but that doesn’t mean it’s not true. When Snowden came out I deserved some apologies. If I can figure it out…. don’t you think the government can??? Those surround sound speakers we all had to have really gave them an edge. And cell phones!!!! Everyone bugged themselves. They don’t have to plant a bug on anyone anymore. They can access your phone even when the battery is dead.
🧐Hello, i got an upstairs neighbor in her own apt.. who is spying on somebody in their downstairs apt. and follows them around, So just wondering if she is using this kind of tech.using it for wrong . to follow her neighbor around without getting caught by the landlord and kicked out because she is just wicked. Thanx for this article.🧐
That was very cool to a point. But I’m kinda upset about the hole article. Ok so you said (“X-Ray”) vision but you didn’t give us (“X-Ray”) at all!!! You gave us heat ray or whatever it is called. But if I could give you any type of STARS I’ll only give you * out of *****. Now if you can actually show us that you can do (“X-Ray”) I’ll BE BACK AND GIVE YOU *****!!!!Thank You!
Hi Mr. action I like your articles about how to use smartphones to see or scan through the wall. I would like to use the app that you said. I don’t know if I spell it right but it’s doesn’t show. I typed in outfit spelled. Maybe I spelled wrong. Can you please provide me with the correct spelling for that app please.
Are devices for viewing through walls harmful to health? I have a lot of evidence that there is a device for looking through the walls next to my house at my neighbor’s house. The building is wall-to-wall, and the wall is made of bricks. I have a bed next to the wall where I sleep so that device would be close to my bed. Can these devices somehow harm health, and how?
“Hyperspectral imaging” The example in this article uses radio frequencies. But what if you used 3G the and 5G frequencies everything is bathed in, as well as the radio frequencies and any other available, ran them all through a program to composite the image? You can even apply spectroscopy to determine the material composition of the object.
Is there an Actual IPhone App as my neighbours upstairs watch me ” take a dump to follow me all over my small property”, there narcissistic MANNERISMS SAD REALLY GROWN ADULTS ACTING LIKE KIDS I FEEL NOW EVERY TIME THE ICE-Cream Van Pulls up across at the park to buy em a Whippy as they defo fell out of Special School for a reason.
Its what i think quite possibly an upstairs neighbor has been using to harass me for more than five years. I’d love to know the name of the products, so that maybe i could defeat the products. Tin foil on my ceiling has not worked (strange but true), its all i could think of, to try to stop what was happening. I wanted to prove that, it was possible for someone to have a tech device, that could see motion from above. Its been hell on earth to be subjected to the things i have. I’d to hear from you. 🕯
…what a strange “Villian”.. Suppose it works as a sort of nuanced statement on how Overly Nosy Parents can see their children as a Villain. &Themselves as some sorta Virtuous Crusader against the evils of Fun. (&Underaged akward sexual experimentation &Partying &Whatever else kids do these days..)
I am not impressed with the over promoted. &embellished see through wall gadget. I would never buy it. It shows unrealistic shape/colour/& cannot differentiate depth. So a round pipe shows as a flat object in bizarre graphics. When his female assisstant went by on opposite side she was very close to (almost brushing) the wall which is unrealistic & the screen image was absolutely nonsensical. Also the first example the pipe (looked like electrician’s EMT metal 1/2 or 3/4 in dia conduit. But when he passed the pipe below it was again almost touching the bottom of a low density board & not a wall. The guy definitely over promoted this crap & made in my opinon false claims. He acted like a small trailer used vehicle lot owner or a furniture salesman in a warehouse application. I could easily see that he did only very short 1or2 seconds of screen view & turned. To a sloping angle. No straight flat closeups & no duration. Also no distances. I won’t say anything fallacious but we can imagine that he is involved to a substantialndegree
Brilliant how new technology is enabling people to think of doing extreme things. It’s excellent how somebody could be perusal you right now, & even walls can’t Guarantee privacy! It’s amazing how technology is turning people more into themselves, self centred tik tok freaks Oh yes! Tech is what I used to love, but with what is coming off assembly lines, we start to forget who we are & start caring less & being non compassionate.
Just think they convinced everyone to get Wi-Fi in your home heck everywhere and they have you put the Wi-Fi router right in the center of your home and don’t forget BTLE can transmit about a half a mile to your neighbors house that also has BTLE and Wi-Fi with some IOT camera’s. For the love of God use a wired connection when you can!
I liked your article, BUT, For 30 seconds of your article you made it like the cell phone scanner device can look through the entire room but oh it has to be a person standing right by the wall where the shoulder is literally rubbing against the wall that’s interesting! So your article at the very 30 seconds first came off wrong cuz you can’t see the whole room just anybody that’s like 1 in by the wall! I’m sure there’s higher technology than that out there you just you just have not found it yet! Oh good article though! 😉
Around AD2010 or so, there were mainstream TV news stories about cameras that could see through walls. The pictures were black n white, but crystal clear! There was concern about whether they should be banned for fear of misuse. Then, they were never heard of again. I seem to be the only person who even noticed them!
No I didn’t like this article, to answer your question. The first device that’s really used as a stud finder, pipe, wire bundle, etc. So this guy wants to spy on somebody and know when they’re moving in their room; he buys that little stud finder gadget, downloads the motion detector app and of course he has to rent the room next to the person he surveilling, pretty expensive set up just to see a couple of red blotches across your screen. And nice little cheap before starting the article. You show a cell phone that appears to be actually looking into the next room, I must have blinked and missed that part in your article. FYI just the other day I was looking at that high-tech stud finder on Amazon. The specs claim that it can see about 12″ through a lath/ plaster wall, drywall, and even a cinder block wall.
1. You cannot actually turn off your phone. It’s only a software-generated “off button”. How can a device (like your phone) be off and then indicate you that it has been turned off? 2. Your phone is a device for automatic internet connection. Even if you turn off your modem, it will pick other signals without you knowing you’re actually connected. You phone, ipad, car computer are PERMANENT CONNECTION-SPYING DEVICES.
Questions if phone can see through material?? Then how come technology and ER visits CT Scans and All the Imaging I never got to view Just a Print off charted digital example.. I was attacked and stricken in a battle of force they functions of all programs agents or abuse reporting 911 calls they are enemies and not protecting or reporting in a accuracy most for personal gain or extorting alter arranging for persue to claim insurance or damages or destructions to take over
Most people won’t be standing that close to a wall .. plus that’s not as thick as a wall with two pieces of 3/8s – 1/2″ drywall plus the thickness of the studs and possibly other obstacles.. so it would be hard to see if anyone was in the room if perhaps they were in the bed and it was away from the walls.. but seeing through granite was pretty Kool tho.
joking? you are wrong my friend, what you should not trust is an information provided without a proof, like your comment, anyway information should never be agreed with just because you trust the provider, you should or take it as something you have to think about and make sure if it is the truth, not just accep as facts because you trust people, don’t treat the actual knowledge as out of your understanding just trusting or under trusting people that they will understand things for yo what could go wrong? a lot can, don’t trust m on this but make sure you’re actually know
This Is The Best article I Could Have Found This Week. I Am Trying To Keep An Eye On Someone In My Home That I Don’t Trust. I’m Waiting For Him To Fuck Up And I’ll Have Proof Then He’ll Get Out Of My Life Without Me Being Stuck In The Cold In My Car In The Wal-Mart Parking Lot. YES!!!!! Thank You For Making This article!
My nast upstair neighbor harrasing me follows me everywhere I go in my home would you please help me how she can see me there is no camera in my home does she using walabot or any device like this that she knows where I am in my apartment and how I can block that hope I get a response from you I read in YouTube that many people have the same issue bad neighbor please let me know how I can block and stop this harrassment thanks
Well this was not what I was searching but it still appeared and i got some info that the neighbors could be using this technology as 1 of their options to see us I have 1 question if I suspect my neighbors spying my personal privacy canl legally get them to sign a letter that they are not peeping in our house with a cam where if in future any photo Or article of our personal privacy is found with them or others by their help they would have to accept the decision of the court
Wow, this article is very misleading…take it with a grain of salt. The poster clearly did not read the instructions for those stud finders he was demonstrating. He consistently used it incorrectly and misread what the display was telling him. If you are going to be using a stud finder, do yourself a favor and read the instructions and maybe watch some articles showing how to properly use it (this isn’t it). The green screen idea was really cool but the information provided was suspect.
You are not using the zircon correctly. The density is set every time when you first activate it and you can’t pick it up during the run. You started on a stud and stayed on a stud and used that as your reference. The reference has to be a place with no stud. That said personally I like the new franklin stud finders with sensor arrays.
Based on the test, the conclusion is that there isn’t a 100% reliable technology when it comes to stud finder. I can certify Zircon are useless and Franklin are way more accurate than Zircon (as I have used both). I thought about one of the thermal or the Walabot but based on the article, it does not make sense to pay that much if they are inconsistent. I guess much of these products assume a very standard house construction type, but when it comes to specific scenarios then all of them behands to behave weird
