The standard tip for a delivery driver is $3 to $5 for normal service on small orders, while for larger orders, a tip of 10-15 of the total bill is recommended. Adjusting the tip based on the difficulty of the delivery, such as bad weather or stairs, is essential. This comprehensive guide covers tipping etiquette, determining appropriate tips, and benefits of tipping.
Tips are generally accepted to be around 10-20 of the total service cost, or a flat amount between $5 to $10. Factors to consider when deciding on a tip include quality of service, was the delivery service provided, and the cost of the delivery. For furniture delivery drivers, the standard tip is $3 to $5 for regular food deliveries, while for special deliveries, it is 15-20 for grocery deliveries and 10-15 for large orders.
Home Depot delivery drivers use various delivery methods, including FedEx and UPS drivers. The recommended tip for delivery drivers ranges from 15 to 20 of the order total, but the amount can vary based on several factors. Maryanne Parker, an etiquette expert, suggests that you should tip delivery drivers 25-30. A $3-$5 tip is satisfactory, but can be more if you’re feeling generous. Most drivers cater for delivery expenses out of pocket, and with the extra risk they take, it’s best to tip a little more.
In terms of tipping, materials companies don’t look down on drivers for accepting tips for well-timed or extra effort deliveries. However, tipping is not necessary for curbside deliveries or for drivers who help load materials into a building or shed. If the driver brings materials into the house or garage, a tip of $10 to $20 each is acceptable. Offering a cold beverage is also a good idea.
Real estate agent Rinal Patel recommends following the rule of tipping at 15 percent to 20 percent of the cost, but if the driver is doing more than just dropping off the tractor, it’s best to buy the item.

Maybe you know but if you actually go into that 40% tax bracket, you only actually pay tax on the additional income over the limit, so say the limit is 51k and you earn 55k you’ll only pay tax on the 4k extra you earn, it’s a pretty big misconception here in the UK that it’s 40%/50% of the whole salary when its just the additional over the bracket 🙂
Hey dude. Perhaps you know this but if you go into the higher tax bracket, you’ll only pay the higher rate of tax on anything you earn over the £50k. £0 to £49999.99 will still be taxed at 20%. So although you’ll pay higher tax on any earnings past £50k, you won’t lose money on your total earnings by earning more than £50k. 👍🏻💰
“Don’t know where he was looking!” I can take a good guess on where the van drivers head was planted haha Love your page mate. Came across it one day a month ago and been perusal your page since. Hopefully I’ll get to visit London and Brighton for the first time next year 🙂 Keep your head on a swivel when out on the roads mate. Cheers from Texas!
18:06 in Germany you also have what you call tax brackets but in your example you would pay for the first 12,750 0% for the 12,751 – 50,270 20% and for the 50,271 – 125,140 40% so in other words its payed in levels if that makes sense. if you’d cross the 50,270 mark you wouldn’t pay 40% taxes on all your income, just for every pound you made above 50,270. Isn’t that the case in the uk? just checked it’s the same in uk so don’t worry if you earn more than 50,270 my guy just keep grinding
Isn’t that a marginal tax bracket? Isn’t it how it works over there? Meaning that every pound under 12500 is not taxed, every pound between 12500 and 50000 is taxed at 20% and the 50001st pound is taxed at 40% (etc.). Genuinely curious, is it just because this one is your second job? And how does YT earnings correlate with that?
I have a question about them no entry roads, Would it not be plausible and legal to jump off your bike and push it past the junction that way you didnt ride in to the area you walked and then ride the rest of the way. May seem a silly question but thats how this weird brain of mine works lmao. Hey love the vids your doing a wonderful job. 😃
Hello, just some advice considering the tax brackets you are talking about, it’s a common misconception that if you earn over £50,270 that the entire salary will be at 40% tax, it’s not true. You will only be taxed 40% on what you earn over £50,270. So If you earnt £55k, you’d be taxed 20% on £50,270 and 40% on £4730.
Glad to see the blanket showing an appearance. It’s definitely a big change to the Indian Summer we had just 😅 Remember though. Over the 50k threshold is taxed at 40%. Nothing under the 50k. Taxes are taxes but you get an extra 60 quid every 10 you earn over 50k. Not bad really. Get you closer to financial freedom 😊😊
Hello London Eats OMG that van was a kamakazi… you wondered what the heck he was looking at… anywhere but at you for sure… Here is the same… You have to have edited you comments well… Abit trust me… I’d say the same thing to that dork!! The London theme song is also here in my l berg just outside DC I live between 2 fire houses… 2 blocks from one of them… 24/7… I keep saying… can’t our citizens go home and get the heck off the streets… we have a real problem with some who think our Blvd is the Indy 500! Be careful dear heart… and be safe in your travels… Best wishes Gladys
Does that mean if somebody earned £150,000.00 a year…… They’d keep £100,000.000? 20% on the £50,000.00 40% on the £100,000.00? So you’ve been done for £50,000.00? So even if you manage to do really well in your life, you’re still fucked? I suppose you’d hire financial advisors and use the system that’s been designed…. Like claiming things as expenses, giving to charity, god knows what. I’ll never earn that, but if I did I wouldn’t know how to look after it. Don’t we live in a right cunty system, designed by bastards? I love the earth, but hate the people.
He almost got hit by a van, but doesn’t help himself by dressing in all black like some roadman and not wearing a high Viz vest! I always wear high Viz vest and white helmet, also high Viz yelloe stickers on sides and rear of givi box and the side of my 125 scooter. Does it look dorky? To some it might be but I’d rather be a “dork or a geek” and increase my survival chances.
Dont forget NI contributions drop if you pay higher rate rax. If you’re in “normal” tax you pay 20% above the nil threshold plus 12% NI contribution so 32% total. Higher rate you pay 40% on earnings within the higher rate band but your NI contributions drop to 2% so 42% in total. So yes you’re paying more but its not as much as it first looks and you can offset it by paying more into a workplace pension and declaring it on your tax return. This is what I do – I earn approx £62k pa but I also pay around 12k of that into my pension which brings me back out of the higher rate band. If i earn more I increase my pension contributions to counter it.
Wish we had a Screwfix equivalent in Qld. Plumbers and electricians can get pretty quick deliveries. But as a Carpenter Builder, fat chance. Electricians can get order morning. Delivered afternoon. And order afternoon, next morning. All free. Plumbers can get within two hours. For a nominal sum. Builders. Sometime whenever for a vast sum. There are couriers that run around. But they are not the sort like you guys. They are all in vans. They go from place to place picking up. Take it back to a depot. And then at some point they may eventually bring it out to your area. In my case they won’t even come to my location. They drop off to the nearest Post Office. Some 7K away. If I need certain items quickly for a job, it is go for a drive. Three hours later and I might be back at the job. Different world.
I was thinking about bike delivery 🤣🤣 £1500 insurance and then tax etc, specially when the cost of everything else is going up making the percentage of each item you buy in daily life has slightly more tax the gov get from that so we end up payong 65% to 80% of your money goes back to the gov 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤣🤣
You ask – why this became a ScrewFix episode? Probably because Gophr puts you on shifts, based on their B2B orders. So if previously some fashion studio put in an order for the day – you get all of their orders. And if there’s negative feedback from the client – they know who has done wrong. Same goes for ScrewFix – if you screw up, chances are, that management gets the memo from the shops/clients, and Gophr gets a note about your performance. This makes QA of delivery workers much easier.
BRO GLAD YOU DIDNT GOT HURT, BUT YOU KNOW, IN PAKISTAN HERE I EVERYDAY GET ALMOST HIT BY CARS, TRUCKS WHENEVER I LEAVE FOR MY OFFICE IN MORNING AND SPECIALLY COMING BACK AT AFTERNOON. IN MONTH OF RAMADAN, OUR ROADS, STREETS ARE ALMOST BLOCKED BY FRUIT SELLERS, PEOPLE, CARS, MOTORCYCLES, AND THERE ARE NO TRAFFIC RULES HERE IN THIS COUNTRY. I HAVE SEEN ONLY ONE ZEBRA CROSSING IN MY ENTIRE LIFE HERE LIVING IN KARACHI. I AM SO SAD AND WISH OUR CITY KARACHI COULD HAVE TRAFFIC RULES JUST LIKE IN LONDON WE SEE TRAFFIC LIGHTS, CYCLE LANE, BUS LANE AND SO MUCH MORE. HERE IN KARACHI, BUS DRIVERS, DRIVE AT VERY FAST SPEED ON NORMAL BUSY ROADS, WHICH REALLY DANGEROUS, WHENEVER I TRAVEL IN BUS, MY HEART STARTS COMING OUT OF MY MOUTH, OHH GOSHH !
18:08 you’re aware that the higher tax rate only applies to the money you’ve earnt above that threshold, right? Like at the end of the day it’s still more money, even after tax. It’s not like as soon as you’re in the higher tax bracket you suddenly halve your income or whatever haha. Just making sure you’re aware, as it’s quite a common misconception…
