Can you create your own weapons?
Gunmaking has been a part of the US tradition and constitutional history for centuries, and legal scholars believe that the Second Amendment’s guarantee of the right to bear arms would be meaningless without the government allowing individuals to exercise that right. Local and state ordinances and laws can vary, but federally, making a firearm for personal use is legal. This does not include making machineguns or other Title II or NFA weapons.
To make a machine gun, a Type 07 FFL (manufacturer license) with a Class 2 Special Occupation Tax is required. Individuals licensed to engage in the business of manufacturing, importing, or dealing in firearms must be licensed by the ATF.
How many people has AK-47 killed?
The Kalashnikov, a type of firearm, has killed more people than any other firearm in the world, with the AK-47 causing millions of deaths in the 71 years since its first prototype was made. Small arms kill between 20, 000 and 100, 000 people annually in conflicts, with Kalashnikovs accounting for a high proportion. Despite being around weapons for most of one’s working life, the author has always felt uncomfortable with their presence, refusing to hold or be photographed, let alone fire a weapon. This rule was broken only once in the 1980s in the remote mountains of Afghanistan.
Can an 18 year old own a pistol in Texas?
Texas has a strict gun law, with 21 years old and above being required for buying a handgun or 18 years old and above for a long gun from a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL). However, Texas allows handguns to be bought through private sales once a person turns 18, and parents or legal guardians can give guns as gifts to minors or give them written permission to purchase a gun.
Texas is among the 26 states that allow permitless carry of handguns, allowing 21-year-olds to carry a handgun without a permit, provided they don’t have a criminal record. They can carry a handgun concealed or openly in public in businesses and state government buildings that don’t prohibit it. Long guns openly do not require a license, but Texas has allowed carrying handguns openly with the proper permit since 2016.
A background check is required for purchasing a gun from a licensed dealer unless a license is held. Private sellers do not require a background check, and there are restrictions on magazine capacity when purchasing firearms through private sales.
In Texas, anyone under 18 years old cannot lawfully possess a handgun under federal law. However, there is no minimum age requirement to possess guns in Texas.
Hoelscher Gebbia Cepeda PLLC offers legal advice on Texas gun laws, including criminal charges, restoring revoked gun licenses, and reclaiming confiscated firearms.
Can you own a gun in Russia?
As of 2013, Russian citizens over 18 years old can obtain a firearms license after attending gun-safety classes and passing a federal test and background check. Firearms can be acquired for self-defense, hunting, sports activities, and collection purposes. Carrying permits may be issued for hunting firearms licensed for hunting purposes, with initial purchases limited to long smooth-bore firearms and pneumatic weapons with a muzzle energy of up to 25 joules.
After five years of shotgun ownership, rifles may be purchased. Handgun ownership has been allowed for practical shooting events and competitions in Russia, with the exception of commemoration pistols gifted by government officials for acts of heroism.
As of 2023, handguns using live ammunition are not allowed to be concealed carry in public, with only rubber bullets allowed for self-defense purposes. Rifles and shotguns with barrels less than 500 mm (20 in) long are prohibited, as are firearms that shoot in bursts or have more than a 10-round capacity. Suppressors are generally prohibited and require special government permission. An individual cannot possess more than ten guns unless they are part of a registered gun collection. However, gun control laws in Russia tend to be unenforced, and many citizens “illegally” own automatic AK rifles purchased from military bases and/or second-hand handguns.
What is the deadliest weapon to exist?
The Soviet Union detonated the Tsar Bomba in 1961, the most destructive weapon in history, causing a shock wave that destroyed buildings hundreds of kilometers away. This bomb could have caused Madrid to cease to exist and its entire population. In Spain, three thermonuclear bombs, each as powerful as 1 megaton, have been dropped by accident. Although these bombs were not activated, they are not the only instances where accidents like this have occurred.
The Tsar Bomba’s detonation in Madrid would have devastating consequences for the city and its population. The development of nuclear technology has led to unprecedented destruction and potential disasters.
What are 3 ancient weapons?
The Ancient Weapons, also known as Pluton, Poseidon, and Uranus, are three powerful weapons with godly powers. They are not limited to inanimate objects but also include living beings. These weapons were used during the Great War during the Void Century and are responsible for the rise of global sea levels, shaping modern world geography. The ancient pirate Joy Boy played a role in their preservation, allowing future generations to access and use the weapons.
The World Government forbids research of the Void Century due to the fear of a global war. However, some individuals, such as former Warlord Crocodile, government agent Spandam, and former members of the Four Emperors, Charlotte Linlin and Kaidou, have attempted to gain one or all of the weapons. Despite the lack of knowledge about the missing years, the power of these weapons has enticed casual observers, as seen with Vander Decken IX’s interest in Shirahoshi, also known as the Ancient Weapon Poseidon.
Can you own a gun in Italy?
Italy’s gun control system incorporates political and regulatory aspects of firearms usage within the framework of the European Union’s Firearms Directive. To legally purchase firearms, one must obtain a “purchase authorization” (nulla osta all’acquisto), which allows the holder to purchase and own a firearm but not to carry or use it. The per capita gun ownership rate in Italy is around 12, with an estimated 7 million registered firearms in circulation.
To inherit firearms from a deceased relative, a temporary license (nulla osta all’acquisto) is required, valid for 30 days and only for the route needed to relocate the firearms from the relative’s house to the new location. A registration for “weapon detention” is required within 72 hours to the nearest police station.
Furthermore, a firearm carrying authorization (porto d’armi in Italian) is needed for carrying or moving firearms, and can be for hunting, sport, personal defense, or job occupation (security guard).
Are guns legal in Japan?
Japan’s gun laws are strict and comprehensive, limiting the purchase of handguns and rifles to the police and military. Hunters and target shooters can possess shotguns and airguns under specific conditions, with the police checking ammunition inventory. A prospective gun owner must take an official safety course and pass a test covering maintenance, inspection, loading, unloading, shooting, and target practice. The license is valid for three years and all guns must be kept in a locked space.
The Japanese crime rate is low, with handguns used in 209 crimes in 1985. About two-thirds of all gun crimes are committed by organized crime groups. Citizens voluntarily comply with the gun law, with no mandatory minimum penalty for unlicensed possession. This spirit of conformity is the best explanation for Japan’s low crime rate and acceptance of strict gun control. A gun ban in America would be alien to the world’s strongest gun culture, as Japan’s gun laws align with an authoritarian philosophy that is fundamentally at odds with America’s traditions of liberty.

What is the oldest weapon?
Spears are among the oldest known handheld weapons, dating back at least 500, 000 years. The development of metalworking during the Bronze Age allowed for advancements in hardy handheld weapons with an edge. The first metal swords, made around 3300 B. C. E., were made with stronger alloys like copper and other metals. However, they were still prone to bending and breaking. By 1200 B. C. E., the Iron Age began, and steel swords were developed. Steel swords were longer, sharper, and more durable than previous metal blades. As skilled steelworkers became, steel played a more profound role in the development of the deadliest handheld weapons.

Wow that takes me back! When I was a kid we had wooden kitchen matches that would strike on any hard surface. We’d shoot those kitchen matches from our clothespin guns at the sidewalk, and they’d burst into flame! (Well, if everything worked right, which happened about 10% of the time.) Thanks for the nostalgia trip, much appreciated.
I made some of those when I was a kid and showed my friends how to do it. Instead of carving it out, though, I made a space and shot Popsicle sticks. We brought our clothespin guns to school and shot each other all day long for several days before we got tired of it. If I were to do that nowadays, I’d likely be suspended from school and have a criminal record. I miss the good old days where being a kid wasn’t such a bad thing.
Hello!! Great article but, If you guys are having trouble cut the wood out, We should get some water, put it in a cup and then but the clothespin inside of the cup, This way the wood would be easy for the blade to cut it, Anyways Great article, Also you could use a hot glue gun if you don’t have wood glue
These used to get me into a lot of trouble back in elementary school. You can just wrap the two pieces with rubber bands and you’re good to go. No need to glue them. We never thought to carve out a “barrel”. The rubber band wrap pinched the ammunition in place. We also modified them somehow to have more power. I think making the spring notch further back.
The school system in a nutshell…. *Teaches son how to make, who brings one to school and teaches friends. Friends and son play with them at school, shooting unsharpened toothpicks and mechanical pencil lead at each other. Teacher or school monitor spots them. Said teacher/monitor tells administration. Administration brings up the school board. School board both notifies law enforcement and expels son and friends for “bringing a weapon to school.” Back in my time, it wasn’t a weapon unless it was a gun, a knife, or a bomb lol.
I remember a variant which lit the match as it was fired. It was the coolest thing I had ever seen as a kid in the 70s. (Well, that and my Levis denim shirt). It must have had the strike plate on the flat of the clothespin and the match must have been more deeply set to hit it on way out. Does this ring a bell with anyone?
When I was a kid way back in the 50’s we made them with a wooden thread spool and used a rubber band to propel them. We glued the inside of the spool with the matchbook strikers so they would ignite when shot. There would be a bunch of us shooting lighted matches at each other on the school playground and nobody stopped us. If kids tried this today on school grounds people would freak out.
Back in the late 1950’s we made matchstick clothespin guns that would light the Diamond Strike Anywhere matches and then shoot it out. Similar to this but less cutting and shaping. You can still find these matches but you have to look as they are not usually out for the inept public to get their hands on.
