Davor Božinović is a Croatian diplomat and politician who has served as the Minister of the Interior and Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia since 2017. He previously held the position of Minister of Defence from 2010 to 2011. Born in Pula, Božinović comes from a family descended from Bay of Kotor, with a father who was a Yugoslav naval officer. Božinović has a BA, MA, and PhD in International Relations and has served as the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia. He also served as Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Božinović has been involved in various diplomatic roles, including serving as the Minister of the Interior and Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia, and as the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia. He has also served as an ambassador to Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Božinović has also been a member of the Croatian Parliament and has previously served as Croatian Minister of Defense and Deputy Foreign Minister. He has committed to strengthening police forces and has stated that by the end of the year, two more counties will be free of mines left over from the 1991-95 war. In a speech at the IHRA, Božinović addressed the issue of adequate measures at external Croatian Schengen borders.
