Are The Couches In The Interior Defined?

The Interior Define Maxwell sofa is a high-quality choice for cat owners, especially when the performance velvet upholstery option is chosen. It offers a comfortable shopping experience with plenty of sizes to fit different spaces and build-your-own options available. The sofa has an ultraplush, cloudlike feel and deep seats for lounging. However, it can be hard to get comfortable, and some reviews have noted that the pillows lack enough fill to maintain shape.

Interior Define allows customers to customize the upholstery fabric, leg style, seat depth, chaise length, and couch length. They also allow customers to choose which type of cushion they like (individual or bench). The fabric is comfortable and the perfect softness, and the bottom cushions are their standard foam, while the back cushions are down. The couch sits low, but the user is short (5’4) and finds it very comfortable and supportive.

The fabric is high quality, and the cushions are soft and noticeably plush. The Velcroed in place cushions ensure the couch never looks disheveled. The couch is firm but comfortable, and the fabric is definitely high quality. However, there are some days when the user can’t get 100% comfortable and thinks a deeper seat would be the solution. Overall, Interior Define strikes a good balance between customization and lasting quality, providing plenty of guidance for customers.

When buying a sofa, it’s essential to avoid common mistakes such as impulse buying, not considering your lifestyle, ignoring sofa construction, selecting the wrong upholstery material, not considering longevity, failing to measure properly, not sizing up your space, and not considering the durability of the sofa. When choosing a high-quality sofa, consider factors such as size, shape, number of seats, upholstery, quality, and color.

If possible, try to see the sofa in person before making a commitment, as it may be different in size, shape, or comfort. If you can’t visit the store in person, arrange a video appointment or request fabric swatches to compare the sofa to other furniture in your living room.

How can you tell if a sofa is high quality?

A sofa or chair’s quality is determined by its frame, suspension, cushioning, and upholstery. Factors such as overall weight, frame/foundation, spring system, seat cushion foam, and upholstery fabric significantly influence the quality of a sofa or chair. A good wood frame is crucial for a sofa or chair, as it can be made from solid woods (both hardwoods and softwoods) or manufactured woods (a composite of real wood and synthetic materials). High-quality furniture is typically made from hardwood, which can withstand decades of wear and tear.

Decent quality furniture is typically made from softwood or a combination of softwood and 3/4″ hardwood plywood, ensuring durability. Low-quality furniture is made from particleboard/chipboard, fiberboard, or medium density fiberboard (MDF), as manufactured woods are inexpensive and low-quality. Understanding these factors can help you identify the quality of a sofa or chair.

What happened to Interior Define?

Interior Define, a furniture company, stopped delivering furniture in 2022 due to a cash crunch and inability to pay its vendors, including Asian factories and US logistics companies. This led to some orders being never manufactured and thousands being stuck in the port system. By the end of 2022, the company was only days away from complete insolvency. Communication with customers was poor due to several layoffs, understaffed customer service teams, and a lack of transparency about cash flow issues. Management instructed sales representatives to offer technical explanations, such as “supply chain disruption”, but failed to provide a comprehensive picture of the company’s troubles.

Is Interior Define furniture non-toxic?

These non-toxic, stain-resistant fabrics are optimal for children to engage in leisure activities while still maintaining the highest standards of quality and luxury. These durable, dog-friendly performance fabrics are straightforward to clean and retain their quality over time.

Which type of sofa is best?

The construction of a high-quality sofa typically incorporates a durable hardwood frame and top-quality upholstery. Genuine leather sofas are renowned for their durability and enduring aesthetic appeal. In contrast, fabric sofas offer a diverse range of styles and are frequently more economical.

Does Havenly's own Interior Define?

Does Havenly’s own Interior Define?

Interior Define and Havenly have dissolved Interior Define in a bankruptcy-like process called an “Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors”, or “ABC”, allowing Mayer and Havenly to buy its intellectual property without taking on its liabilities, which are estimated to be around $96 million. However, the transaction has been challenging, as Mayer has been paying shipping vendors out of pocket to get customers’ lost-in-limbo sofas delivered, and the complicated negotiations have caused delays and negative press.

Mayer, a fan of Interior Define, believes it deserved another shot and believes it would benefit Havenly, another venture-backed home industry e-comm brand. She believes that the prospect of Interior Define going under would not have been beneficial for Havenly. The complex transaction has raised questions about the future of the venture-backed home industry.

Is Interior Define going out of business?

Interior Define, a company that has been in trouble, has entered into an assignment for the benefit of creditors (ABC) process. This process dissolves the company as a legal entity, and its remaining assets will be liquidated. The money generated will primarily go to paying its secured creditors, such as banks and investors. Interior Define’s website is still operational, as Havenly has bought its intellectual property, social channels, and website.

Havenly will run Interior Define as a new legal entity, free of the original company’s debts and obligations. This is a common practice when troubled businesses are sold to buyers who cannot afford to pay their debts. In this case, Havenly has bought Interior Define as a brand but is not legally obligated to pay its debts or satisfy orders placed in 2022.

  • They are amazing, my bother bought a sectional from them 2 years ago and it held up pretty well considering he has a 70lb beast running around his house 🙂 Anyway i finally need a new couch myself and my head is spinning from the wide selection and customizations they offer. PS Extremely high quality couches in mid price range, i highly recommend it.

  • I love my Interior Define couch! It took 18 weeks (because of the pandemic) to get it but holy moly is it well worth it! I got fabric swatches and spoke to a rep about what would fit my needs and it is perfect for my life and space. I have pets and the fabric is pet and kid friendly and it is not only super easy to clean but doesn’t pull if my cat scratches it!!! There are so many options so if you can be patient then check it out 🙂

  • Thanks for the review. I thought I would look the company up on You Tube for reviews because I’m considering buying a couch from them. I ordered swatches today. I’m also interested in the velvet upholstery for the couch design they call Alexander. Unfortunately at this point they do have a wait time of between 22 and 25 weeks and I’m not sure I want to wait that long. I would love to know how your couch is holding up.

  • lol. it’s very addicting..once you go quality (over inexpensive), you never go back. it might take a while to accumulate every single piece that you want in your home, but I always say “buy quality and buy once. buy junk and you’re going to keep buying and buying.” so really it only makes sense to save up and buy quality pieces. Interior Define is great don’t get me wrong, but personally I like Joybird simply because of their lifetime warranty and 365 day test drive. you literally have a year to decide if you want to keep the piece or not. you can’t beat that.

  • This is definitely helpful. My wife and I moved to new house in 2015 and bought new furniture from Raymour & Flanigan and less than 2 years later the cushions began to sink and the material started pilling. This was one of their most popular sofas that is always featured on their magazine covers and commercials. It’s the gray Anastasia Sofa. We are both tall and looking for something a bit higher up from the floor. I definitely will check out Interior Define Sofa. Thanks for the tip!

  • I ordered a ‘Quick-Ship’ Sloan sofa recently, it is arriving next week, I’m so excited! I too wanted velvet, and ordered a few swatches that showed up rapidly, but I didn’t want to wait two months. The color of the sofa is ‘Olive’, and I have a throw blanket that is a vivid green ready to pair it with.
