Could see that coming on the overspray .. 😛 Next time you could stretch the masking tape out between your hands and push it vertical down into the groove above and under the trim. It would probably stick in there by the tight fit by itself. Then you could fasten it with the duct tape for extra security. That would guarantee no overspray 🙂 Alternatively get a deck of cards or two and stick in the groove all the way around. Then mask the door card off with newspapers
My ’04 9-5 has some sticky buttons on the radio and SID, it’s that yucky GM style plastidip they put on the keypads and human oil just eats them away, I’ve been looking for a way to fix this. Nobody seems to make the keys, I’ve seen where say Nissans have a similar issue and someone printed stickers you can put on the keys but… no such luck for the Saabs 🙁 I’d plastidip the keys but then there’s no way to tell what the buttons are lol. Really a shame GM chose to use that plastic coating on so many vehicles…
Nice upgrade. You’re right. That silver look is great on the Aero trim. Really sharp and clean. Makes me miss my 08 Aero, recently sold. Next time you are at the junkyard, look for an aero with the the air vent buttons still intact. Those covers pull right off and are a nice upgrade to the stock gray ones. Little details that make you smile.
