Bondo works well on various types of wooden surfaces, including furniture, decks, garage doors, doors, frames, soffits, cabinets, wood columns, and interior trim.

Bondo is the go-to product for fixing dents and holes in auto bodies since 1955, and it can also be used for wood repair. It is known for its strength, fast drying, and low cost. Bondo is particularly effective for filling gouges, scrapes, holes, and missing veneer. After sanding, Bondo achieves a seamless finish.

  • Dang I just went to ACE yesterday and bought two cans of the MinWax Hardner. Ace here in our tiny mountain town 100 miles away from any large store only carries the MinWax not Bondo or other hardner brands. So my first reaction to seeing your post was to take the minwax back wait upwards of 19 days for Amazon delivery and that’s just not going to happen when I gave it more thought. However I would have if circumstances weren’t also pressing me to just go with what I have. I’ll be filling in the punky soft rotted wood with a wood filler and I had ordered Gorilla brand though I wanted bondo but it went from 19 in my order page to double that over night and no longer via Amazon direct buyer but third party set up. SO I’m going with the good reviews with the Gorilla at a quarter of the price and no additives or hardening additives needed either that MinWax I believe requires or maybe Bondo. My situation is an RV that I discovered had a leak long before I purchased it via a corner of one of the windows down the wall. Had no idea behind that ruffled vinyl laminate wall paper that it was wet and rotted and smelled of mildew too. Dang what a mess. It’s a learning process for sure as I’m a very first owner of any kind of RV ever and total uneducated but as I circle that drain as it attempts to suck me down the dispair hole I’m holding on. I’m stubborn. So I so appreciate your comparison today. If in the future we need some rot hardener we’ll go with the bondo. For now I’m so deep into this mess at the moment I’ll stay with the supplies I have on hand.
